West Valley Food Initiative

Our aim is to celebrate and strengthen our community’s economic resilience and health through food independence. We will build connections as we share food, food growing, food stories, preservation, education and histories of the abundance of food around us here in the West Valley.
The West Valley Food Initiative’s first project proposes to electronically geo-map historic fruit trees in the West Valley, starting in Willamina. The goal is to identify the trees and research their local history, i.e., who brought them here, who planted them and why. A treasure hunt of sorts! Everyone is invited to get outside, walk around your home and neighborhood to find the treasures that surround you.

We meet 7:30 pm Mondays at the Wildwood Hotel Restaurant in Willamina. Check the Calendar below for meetings and upcoming events!

Food, it brings people together, it creates community.
